"Progress in learning to read, either in the classroom or in the clinic, is determined first by the quality and consistency of the program, and secondly by the amount of one-on-one time each child receives."

"Together, we can give your child the Edge for Life"

"Lois Cheatham has truly transformed our younger daughter's self-esteem, her enthusiasm for study, her organizational skills, her confidence in bringing a project to completion and probably most importantly, her reading. In just eight weeks, our daughter's reading level has improved from 'at risk' to a 'Dean's list nominee'. We attribute much if not all of this to Lois' talent in her field. She has great rapport with her students. Our daughter prioritizes her time around time spent with Lois. Lois is great with kids. She keeps them on track and moving, but with great ease and joy. Another strength I see in Lois is her knowledge in her field. She is so able to get to the bottom of so many challenges; she know where to begin to build a successful child. In fact, she makes it look easy. I only wish all students had an opportunity to learn how to attack reading as Lois teaches."
Sincerely,

A Letter from Lois:
My friend Artie was simple with some learning handicaps. The kids on the school bus always made fun of him, asking, "What time is it, Artie?" As they knew he could not tell time. I would always defend him and stand up for him. I can best describe our childhood relationship as Jenny to Forrest Gump.
I came away from my experiences with a desire to help kids in need, leading me into a career in Special Education. I always had a burning desire to solve the frustrations that I witnessed in Artie, as he struggled to learn. He was the impetus to my career path and the reason for my tutoring business today. I constantly endeavor to target the huge frustration and sense of failure that children with learning challenges feel daily. I help them to feel special and successful. As a result, they achieve greater self-esteem and academic growth.
Sincerely,
Lois Cheatham
